Deeper Rome
A classic tour to the rediscovery of the 4 major Papal basils of Rome that winds through history, art and faith, sedimented over the centuries. Churches rich in absolute masterpieces that have attracted pilgrims and tourists to Rome over the centuries.
We will visit the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, with its Holy Door, the Pauline Chapel with the famous icon "Salus Populi Romani", the beautiful mosaics, the spectacular ceiling, gilded, it is said, with part of the first gold from America, the relic of the cradle of Jesus and much more.
We will continue with a visit to the Cathedral of Rome, San Giovanni in Laterano, the first church built by the Emperor Constantine in the fourth century. It is still the official seat of the Roman Pontiff.
It ends with the visit of the Church of Santa Croce in Jerusalem, with the important religious relics of the "Holy Cross" brought from Jerusalem to Rome by St. Helena, mother of Constantine.
