ancient ostia (with minivan)
Rome Surroundings
We will visit the main port of Ancient Rome, Ostium, or the "mouth of the river" because it rises where the Tiber flowed into the Tyrrhenian Sea.
From all over the Roman Empire here arrived the materials that served to build the Eternal City. We will take a real plunge into the past and rediscover, through the archaeological evidence, aspects of everyday life with the numerous spas, the ancient theatre, the temples, the mills, the domus of the rich and the homes of plebeians, the Piazza delle Corporazioni in which the frenetic work of all the shipping companies was concentrated.
A perfect excursion about 45 minutes from Rome, in the open air, exciting even for students, who can live what they learn at school.
The price of the visit does not include transport, which we can provide on request. The site is linked to Rome via a train.
